Watton Priory

The Priory

The house known as Watton Abbey, or Watton Priory, is the remnant of an important Gilbertine priory founded in 1150. After the Reformation it became a private house and the grounds. This site is NOT open to public.

A headless nun haunts the meadow that runs from the priory to Walton Beck. In life, the unfortunate woman was seduced, and then punished by being executed.
